About this event

The Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy is a touring immersive storytelling experience that transforms venues into candlelit bars where Poe historians perform tales from Poe's catalog. Chapter Two features The Cask of Amontillado, Annabel Lee, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Fall of the House of Usher. Each story is paired with a themed cocktail: the Lover's Lament (bourbon, lemonade, hibiscus) and Montresor's Revenge (amontillado, orange juice) among them. The show runs 90 minutes with four complimentary drinks included in the $55 ticket. Reviews call it "atmospheric and intimate." It arrives at the Paramount Foundation of Central Arizona in Casa Grande for two nights only, May 1 and 2, 2026. It does not require having seen Chapter One.

01Dinner Before (Casa Grande)

Downtown Casa Grande, AZ

Casa Grande has a handful of restaurants near the Paramount. BeDillon's is the closest upscale option. Otherwise, eat in Chandler before the drive. The speakeasy includes cocktails but not food.

Tip: Eat before you go. Four cocktails on an empty stomach will rewrite the evening in ways you did not plan.

Paletas, mangonadas, ice cream, and aguas frescas. The All Natural location stays open until 10 PM. Stop here before the show for something sweet, or after if the timing works. Either way, you leave with mango on your lips and Poe in your head.

Tip: The mangonada is the order. Mango, chamoy, lime, Tajin. It sets the tone for a night that refuses to be ordinary.

A historic theater transformed into a dim speakeasy for two nights. Flickering candles, lanterns, moody decor. The Poe Historians perform four tales while you drink cocktails named after the stories. Ninety minutes, no intermission.

Tip: Arrive 15 minutes early. Seating is first-come. The closer you sit, the more immersive it gets.
