Consent cue

Tight timeline. Agree on alcohol pace before the first round. Confirm energy levels before the 12-minute drive to the farm.

The Point

A fast-paced evening with an immersive center. You handle the costumes, the tickets, and the 12-minute transition; she handles the clues.

How it flows

4:00 PM
The Baseline: The Ostrich
Meet at the door with the red light. Descend into the 1912 vault. The air smells of tobacco and mint. Drink one cocktail. The quiet sets the 1920s baseline.
5:15 PM
Transition
Leave the basement and drive 12 minutes to the Kyrene agricultural stretch. Hydrate in the car as the urban sounds of Chandler fade into the rustle of the lavender fields.
6:00 PM
The Mystery: Chateau De Vie
Enter the Victorian manor. It smells of lavender and wax. Clocks tick in the hall of shadows. Dinner is served. Chase clues through the winding staircases and hidden corners.
9:30 PM
The Debrief
Head back to downtown. Have a final drink at The Blue Heron. It is a quiet space to talk through the mystery. You can also return to the Ostrich for a final pour.
10:30 PM
Exit
Rideshare or designated driver. Home safe and clear the night.

Pivots & backups

Ostrich Full?
Skip to The Brickyard Downtown. Same historic feel, faster seating for small groups.
Running Late?
Skip the nightcap. Head straight to the farm by 5:25 PM. The mystery is the priority.
Energy Crash?
Cancel the nightcap. Grab water and snacks at QT and debrief at home in comfort.

Comfort cues

Alcohol
Two stops mean two rounds minimum. Stick to a drink-per-hour limit so the nightcap is a choice, not a slog.
Competitiveness
Mystery games can get heated. Check in during dinner: is the game-face fun or stressful?
Timing
The drive from the speakeasy to the farm is tight. If you're behind, skip the nightcap later to make up time now.

Checklist

Mystery tickets confirmed
1920s costumes ready
Water in the car
Rideshare or sober driver
Ostrich location saved

Note

The Ostrich is a genuine Prohibition-era basement. The low ceilings are original. Chateau De Vie is a 1920s manor in an agricultural stretch of Chandler. The nightcap is for arguing over who the killer was.
